Who can participate?

Developers, designers, hackers, educators, entrepreneurs and anyone who wants to leverage technology to build their ideas into solutions.


What should be the team size?

The minimum size is 3 and the maximum team size is 6.


I want to participate but don’t have a team. What should I do?

We are expecting people to join in groups. Anyone can participate globally.


Our product is already on the market, can we still join?

No, if the product is already on the market you can’t propose the same idea.


I am not a developer, can I join the event?

Yes, you can.


Will there be any mentors during the event?

A design thinking session will be conducted as part of orientation to make your idea more practical. If you need technical or non-technical support, we will have a few members available throughout the event. Contact us at hack-ed@lftechnology.com.


What is the cost of participation?

There is no participation fee for HACK-ED.


I am not in Kathmandu, can I join?

Yes, of course. Submission and presentation will be done online. This is a global hackathon, you can participate from any city in the world. The only thing you need to make sure is you follow and respect the timeline of the hackathon from your timezone.


What technology should I use?

There is no restriction on languages or choice of technology. However, we expect teams and individuals to be able to push to a public GitHub repository. If you are new to GitHub, start here.


Who owns the project and intellectual property for submitted projects?

The team that develops the project is the owner of the project and intellectual property (IP). We encourage sharing of code with others in the community or making the code open source for the time period of the event. Leapfrog Technology, Inc. also holds the right to use the name or link the product and it’s creators for their marketing and other social campaigns.


Does my team need to be online during the hackathon?

We don’t need the entire team to be online at all times. However, we will need one representative from your team to be available during the event so that we can contact you if needed.

Products will be judged based on these criteria:

Where do we submit our project?

Every team must submit a URL of their project GitHub repository. A hosted URL of the project or a visual demo video is to be submitted by each team on the final day.
